How To Retain Employees In Post Covid

We all are surviving through Covid-19 Pandemic that leads to many leading crisis one of them is unemployment. Many people lost their jobs or quit from the job due to the pandemic fear and this situation going not so well for the Companies. Employees expect much more than before from their Employers due to the growing concerns of Covid-19. Employers have to prioritize the Safety, Flexibility and the needs of the employee. Those who trying to force the employee in the unsafe Environment leads their Company into a unretainable state which is not good for the company as well as the Job seeker.


Create a healthy and Supportive working Environment

Healthy and Supportive work environment is very essential for the employee. Worker expects from their company that they take care of them in a difficult situation and give them the benefits that they need to survive in a pandemic. Help them in their goals whether they are short term or long term. It shows you are invested in their future as they are. Try to reduce work load, by reducing work days or by reducing work hours. Employees with families have to lot to juggle with their professional work. Be considered about every one's situation and come up with the creative solution. Lead your team in a psychological, try to understand them that your are with them in this pandemic and you'll give them what they need to survive. They can more focused on the work if they don't have to think about their family problems and critical pandemic situations.

Try to support them emotionally

Communicate with them on regularly basis with more empathy toward them and listen to them completely focus on what they are saying not just pretend of listen them really try to understand them remove stress from the work as much as possible and aware them about the mental health issues, listen to their problems first. By acknowledging what people are going through, you are helping them be more resilient, confident and optimistic which is what we all need right now in this pandemic. When they think you are with them, they try to include themselves more into your company and try to stay with you for more long time. Help them in their mental conditions specially in this pandemic as you don't know what they are going through if you can help them in their medical conditions as in their household needs. Companies need to create a strong relationship between them and their workers.

Technology is an asset, not liability

Digital tools like ZOOM ,Google Meet, have enabled people to do work from home, communicate, learn and share together. Try to create open communication environment where no one have to fear about to express themselves. As a leader try to them contact over these platforms and take care of your work as well as of them. Cheer them up with these platforms as a leader try plan fun activities like some kind of games or any other fun activities with them over these platforms. When they feel connected with their leaders which leads to the strong bond foundation and make them loyal toward the employer and they decided to work more for the company.

Reward is the key

Every employee want acknowledgement and recognition for their work. Companies must empathize with the ground reality and recognize them. As a leader of the industry, try to lean toward your worker's work and try to reward them for their hard work in the form of incentives, appreciation, certificates or in any other recognizable form. Recognize them as recognition is very effective way to appreciate the worker for their work. Make recognition as a part of the culture so that they feel great about their work and about their company which make them to think about more work for the company.
